Drinking coffee isn’t the only way to consume your favorite java beverage! When coffee is paired with ingredients such as cream, nuts and chocolate in dessert recipes, the result is a play of flavours that is balanced between rich and bold, deliciously decadent, without being overpowering for non-coffee drinkers.
Coffee is a versatile ingredient that you can easily incorporate in your dessert-making. To prepare the recipes listed below, you’ll need some brewed coffee.
To get the most flavor when using brewed coffee in a recipe, we suggest to use espresso because it gives a stronger, bold flavor (a shot of espresso =60 ml). Alternatively, you can use regular coffee brewed at double-strength. The general rule of thumb is to use 1 rounded teaspoon for every 180 mL ounces of water, so to make a double strength coffee, increase to 2 rounded teaspoons (e.g. using a stovetop mocha pot or french press).
With your brewed coffee, you’re all set to start making your desserts to impress your loved ones!
